Classroom Donations

If you're able to provide any of the following items (new or used), they would be greatly appreciated and well-loved by our young scholars.

-Early Reader books. When looking in stores or online, you can ask for books for early readers (Kindergarten through 2nd grade). We use the Fountas & Pinnell leveling guide which uses an A-Z lettering system. I have a fair amount of higher level books in our classroom library, but could supplement level A-I books. You can donate gently used books from home and/or purchase new books. Here are some great resources for early readers:

In addition to asking your child and their friends what they want in our classroom library, ask our awesome school media specialist, Rosie Lingo, for suggestions. Also ask the children's librarians at Multnomah County Libraries and the passionate folks at any local, independent book store. They are great resources!

You can also use these online resources:
Scholastic: https://orders.scholastic.com/NW4BD (order from here to earn free books for our class)
Children's Book Council: https://www.cbcbooks.org/readers/reading-lists/best-of-lists/childrens-choices/

-Sports equipment for our recess tub (jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, sports balls, musical instruments)

-Legos, lincoln logs, small cars/trucks to use during cooperative playtime

-If you're not sure what to donate, but are able to give additional funds, donate in the office and ask that it is designated for either "classroom enrichment" or "field trip scholarship".

Thank you!
